To do this I did need to limit the length of the GMT horse selection list but you can pull up any horse you want to edit from their control panel.

    • I fixed a bug in the GMT lab that allowed you to edit a pony's height below the natural cut-off of 12.0 even if they did not have the hight restricted gene. I also went through all three servers and fixed any bugged horses.
      Additionally, I think we are fine to remove the license requirements from the height regulator gene. I think with the showing limiters there just isn't going to be an issue with problematic breeding. I have kept the licenses intact for now though realistically they will probably be removed in the future. You can not obtain any new height regulator licenses anymore.

    • I figured out a way so that your additional custom breeds will not need a bone weight rule for the breed characteristics to work. I have removed the bone weight rule requirement from the breed management form, create a horse form, and breed editing form on the horse page and bulk option. If your breed already has a bone weight rule that you can not change but would like to please pop me a PM on the forum.
      Do not forget, you have until the end of the month to set the breed on your older bred horses!
      In preparation for all the new breed characteristics, I have split off breed management from your stable settings page. It now has a dedicated page called "Manage My Breeds" in the navigation bar under "My Stable."

    • We had some issues with rollover this past month so to hopefully keep it from happening again I have changed the times for monthly rollover. The server will now be closed from midnight until 2 am, to help clear database uses and free up server resources. It will then run the actual rollover at 1 am instead of midnight. We are finding that scripts running at midnight are the ones causing us the most issues.

    • You can now (sort of) move the horse closer and further in the advanced tack editor. You can now actually put your horse in the stalls!

      This isn't true depth since our system is strictly 2d, so you'll still need to manually put items in front of/behind the horse as needed. As part of this, the items on the horse now move and scale with the horse, which feels nice.

      At the minute this update is only working when manually using the advanced tack editor, while we seek feedback. The scaling will not show up if a horse's image gets refreshed.

      There are a couple of minor known bugs with this update. The big one is some positions jumping when you start to move a horse around. Please let us know if you find anything else, or have any feedback

      I also fixed a few minor bugs with the advanced tack editor as I went along.

      * The editor starts with the horse selected instead of "None"
      * Mouse interaction no longer cut off if you move your pointer outside of the display
      * Mouse interactions generally got cleaned up a bit, and should be snappier.

    • 1) I updated tack copying this morning so that it copies the position of your template horse. That means horses will now stack correctly with other tack items in the scene. The caveat to this is it will copy the new horses to the exact position as your template horse. If both horses are identical in size, the copy will be exact. If the new horse is slightly shorter or taller than the original template horse they may end up in slightly different positions because of scaling. It should not cause any major impact but is something to be aware of. 2) Additionally I made it so if you try to copy over your template horse nothing happens. Before it would either delete the tack of the template horse or duplicate it.

    • Another cool search update since I am already in there today. Tattoos, with the exception of "GMT:" tagged tattoos, will now show next to a horse's name when you view them on the search page. That should help you a good deal with spotting rank specials, and making sure your herd is fully tattooed up. Should also generally be handy when sorting your horses.

    • You can now access the new "Horse Breed Control Panel" on the "Control Panel" tab of your horse page. This allows you to update the breed of your horses. For the months of April and May, you will be able to change the breed of a horse even if they have descendants in the game. In the future, as with GMT edits, once a horse has foals in the game, living or archived, the breed will be fixed. You can change the breed of any horse created by you OR horses with the 'National" brand. Be careful editing the breed of outside-created horses as once you set the breed it will be fixed since they will no longer be 'National' bred.
      Bulk breed changing is coming next!

It is not a bug with the code.     • Looks like our payment handling script is still struggling with PayPayl purchases made by people whose Paypal name has an apostrophe in it. I made another change to the system to hopefully address that, but it is a fiddly thing to test. If your Paypal name is not your own name but instead a business name with an apostrophe and you make a payment please let me know so I can insure your purchases are being properly tracked and credited.
      In more general news we are back and customer service is resuming normally however, Fluffle is still on spring break until Monday so programming work will be a bit disrupted until then.

    • Still fighting with trying to get awards to run automatically. It is not a bug in the code we have a bug causing the crons not to even attempt to trigger on Bluegrass and Mesa. I manually ran them this morning and made a tweak that might fix the issue for next month. No way to know until it runs in April.

      Getting the backward breeder trophies out has been a real fight this morning, and delayed and complicated by the other award issues. They have been sent out now, along with the GMT's but it is far from a seamless operation just yet. They award list does not know how to show them yet and we are long ways from the forum making automatic posts about it. I am doing my best with these and will keep you updated.

    • Added a change to height inheritance in the game. Horses can now turn out a bit smaller or taller than the average of their parent heights than before. However, on average more horses will be born closer to the average height of their parents with outliners being just that, rare outliers.

      In bigger news horses can now be bred up to 20 hands in height. Horses greater than 17 hands in height still will not show up any bigger on the screen. We expect the visual half of this update in early April.

I made a change that only applies when breeding the average breeding ability of the parents is 60% or below.     • The barn page, horse page, and public auction page have been updated with new logic for the upcoming round-the-clock auctions. Each now has a "Starting Bid:" option that you can adjust from between 2,500 and 999,999hbs.

      Any starting bid of 2,500 (or the lifetime payout for horses 10 and over) will automatically be placed by the auction bidder account. If your starting bid is more than the starting bidder is willing to pay, you will automatically make the starting bid. If your horse fails to receive any bids other than your starting bid it will simply not sell.

      Please note that when entering the auction you will see "The auction will run for 1 day(s)." This is logic for the upcoming new auction schedule and can be ignored. All horses will still auction on the normal Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday schedule for the time being.

Damages have been updated so that they are no longer influenced by ability. Every horse in the game has a 1 in 1000 (.001%) odds of causing damage on any given day. The amount of damage is random and between 1 and 150 hbs. In the past damages were calculated for every horse for every day you were logged out. To prevent things from getting out of hand this is now limited to 5 days maximum. If you are logged out for an entire month you will still only get a max of 5 days' worth of damage.

    • The Era clubs in the game were never supposed to have fantasy horses in them. (This is a realistic genetics game, not a unicorn game.) The clubs clearly state that fantasy horses are not allowed and it has never been possible to enter a fantasy horse into an era club via the club form. Over the years many fantasy horses have crept in through a series of bugs. Attempts have been made to remedy this without great success. I have put in a fix that should properly remedy the issue once and for all. Fantasy horses that accidentally end up in era clubs will be automatically removed. To prevent too great a shock to people's herds this purging will happen slowly and for large clubs may take months to complete. This gives people plenty of time to adjust their breeding goals if needed. The purge also happens from youngest horses to oldest, again to smooth the transition for people.
